چکیده

Methods 12 fresh frozen cadaver foot and ankle specimens were used. The peroneal longus and brevis tendons, as well as the posterior tibial tendon, were identified and tagged. A flexible thin computerized pressure sensor strip (Tekscan), containing 4 sensor pads, was placed longitudinally within the groove between the peroneus brevis tendon and posterior fibula. These 4 sensor pads were separated from each other by a distance of 8 mm. The strip was secured such that the first sensor pad was consistently positioned overlying the calcaneofibular ligament (CFL). The remaining 3 sensor pads were, therefore, positioned more proximally, corresponding to the distal, middle, and proximal groove respectively.

Retromalleolar Groove Deepening in Recurrent Peroneal Tendon Dislocation: Technique Tip

Peroneal tendon dislocations are most prevalent in the active and athletic population, so accurate diagnosis and management are essential for optimal return of function. Although many nonoperative and surgical management options have been described, the optimal treatment method continues to be debated. In this technique article, a modified retromalleolar groove-deepening technique is described ...

Surgical treatment of chronic dislocation of the peroneal tendons.

Recent reports on the outcome of sports injuries have pointed out that ankle sprains may cause long term discomfort, this occasionally being due to peroneal tendon dislocation which may become chronic. The present paper reports a method, which includes deepening of the retromalleolar groove and at the same time maintaining the cartilagenous gliding layer. Long term follow-up (2 to 10 years) is ...

Intrasheath subluxation of the peroneal tendons.

BACKGROUND Dislocation or subluxation of the peroneal tendons out of the peroneal groove under a torn or avulsed superior peroneal retinaculum has been well described. We identified a new subgroup of patients with intrasheath subluxation of these tendons within the peroneal groove and with an otherwise intact retinaculum. METHODS The cases of fifty-seven patients with painful snapping of the ...

Endoscopic Treatment of Intrasheath Peroneal Tendon Subluxation

Intrasheath subluxation of the peroneal tendons within the peroneal groove is an uncommon problem. Open exploration combined with a peroneal groove-deepening procedure and retinacular reefing is the recommended treatment. This extensive lateral approach needs incision of the intact superior peroneal retinaculum and repair afterwards. We treated three patients with a painful intrasheath subluxat...
